Jonas Weibull photography
Since I found photography as an activity and form of expression about fifteen years ago, the act of taking photographs itself has been the most rewarding to me. It has allowed me to take a break and become fully absorbed by something outside of my own circular musings and the relentless grind of everyday life. Many of the environments I have chosen to photograph in have involved a certain amount of risk, which has helped me to stay in the moment, but at the same time caused me to balance on the border of destructiveness, and occasionally trip over and lose my passion for photography over periods of time.
So far I have not done much with the tens of thousands of photos I have taken over the years, partly just because of the sheer volume itself, partly because I prefer not to sit at the computer any more than I already do at work, and not least challenges with self-criticism . However, I believe there must be value in experiencing also the outcome of one’s work, and thus you are now reading this text. I have forced myself to publish this site and also to publish it unfinished – since “finished” seems to be a state that rarely occurs.
I hope you enjoy the photography.
